However, he was dismissed lbw by Josh Hazlewood just when he looked set to go big.

Captain Sanju Samson couldn’t capitalize on the start and was dismissed for 15 runs from 19 deliveries. He was stumped by Jitesh Sharma off the bowling of Krunal Pandya, which slightly dented RR’s momentum in the powerplay.

Riyan Parag once again played a handy knock in the middle-order. He scored 30 runs from 22 balls, including 3 fours and a six, before falling to Yash Dayal, caught by Virat Kohli.

Dhruv Jurel contributed a vital cameo of 35 not out off 23 balls with 2 boundaries and 2 sixes, helping RR cross the 170-run mark. Shimron Hetmyer, however, managed only 9 runs from 8 balls before he was caught by Devdutt Padikkal off Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bowling.

Chasing 174, RCB got off to a flying start with opener Phil Salt going absolutely berserk. He smashed 65 runs from just 33 balls, hammering 5 boundaries and clearing the ropes 6 times. His strike rate of 196.97 set the tone for the chase. He eventually fell for 65, caught by Jaiswal off Kumar Kartikeya, but by then RCB had already crossed the halfway mark.

Virat Kohli held one end up with a composed and fluent innings. The former skipper remained unbeaten on 62 off 45 deliveries, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes. Kohli’s calm presence ensured there were no hiccups in the chase.

Supporting Kohli at the other end was Devdutt Padikkal, who played a measured yet attacking innings. The stylish left-hander stayed not out on 40 off 28 balls, hitting 5 boundaries and a six. His strike rate of 142.86 kept the scoreboard ticking.

RCB completed the chase in just 17.3 overs, finishing at 175 for 1, securing a comprehensive 9-wicket victory with 15 balls to spare. Extras contributed 8 runs to the total.
